Arnab Barua is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mathematics and Computing at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE. His research centers on mathematical modeling and theoretical biology, with interests in areas including collective cell migration, entropy-driven decision-making processes, Bayesian learning in cell contexts, and related topics in mathematical and theoretical biology.
He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including co-authored works such as "A least microenvironmental uncertainty principle (LEUP) as a generative model of collective cell migration mechanisms" (2020), "Close to optimal cell sensing ensures the robustness of tissue differentiation process: the avian photoreceptor mosaic case" (2021), "Entropy-driven cell decision-making predicts ‘fluid-to-solid’ transition in multicellular systems" (2020), "Cell decision making through the lens of Bayesian learning" (2023), and later papers on microenvironmental entropy dynamics (2024), geodesic learning (2025), and ecological determinants of pathogen growth (2026). Barua previously held positions including Visiting Researcher at Khalifa University and roles at other institutions such as Academia Sinica and Tata-related affiliations, with a background in mathematical modeling, optimization, data analysis, statistics, and machine learning applications.
