Srivastava's academic interests focus on Water Resources Engineering. During his master's program, he conducted the project 'Assessment of climatic variables using GCMs over Gomti River Basin,' which utilized ensembled Global Climate Models statistically downscaled to analyze long-term trends in precipitation and temperature for future climate scenarios across different seasons and months. He gained practical insights through a Summer Vocational Internship at Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam in May-June 2018, studying water treatment plant operations and water pipeline installations from zonal pumping stations to localities. He co-authored the review paper 'High-Precision Dam Deformation Monitoring Using Advanced InSAR Techniques: A Review,' published in 2026 in the Journal of Civil Engineering and Construction, with Sachi Anand, Mulk Raj Anand, and Saket Rusia, examining InSAR techniques for dam deformation monitoring. Proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWAT, and MATLAB, he demonstrates strong soft skills in decision-making, communication, leadership, teamwork, and observation. At NIT Rourkela, he was a member of the Civil Engineering Student Technical Club and managed yoga classes in VS Hall.
