Harsha Thakkalapally is a Pharmacology Degree Trainee in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She is a graduate student in Stephen Abbott’s lab, where her research centers on neuropharmacology topics including respiratory chemoreception through RTN and carotid body circuits, communication of inflammation to the central nervous system, and brainstem mechanisms involved in blood pressure control and variability across behavioral states.
