Rate My Professor Sandleen Feroz

As an interdisciplinary researcher, Dr. Feroz specializes in translational research at the intersection of cariology, biomaterials, and regenerative medicine. Her work develops bioactive materials to prevent and arrest dental caries, optimizes oral care formulations, and creates minimally invasive restorative options for improved patient outcomes. Key publications include 'Keratin-Based Materials for Biomedical Applications' (Bioactive Materials, 2020), 'Hydroxypropylmethyl Cellulose (HPMC) Crosslinked Keratin/Hydroxyapatite (HA) Scaffold Fabrication, Characterization and In Vitro Biocompatibility Assessment as a Bone Graft for Alveolar Bone Regeneration' (Heliyon, 2021), 'Extraction of Keratin from Sheep Wool Fibres Using Aqueous Ionic Liquids Assisted Probe Sonication Technology' (Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2022), 'Biomimetic Bone Grafts and Substitutes: A Review of Recent Advancements and Applications' (Biomedical Engineering Advances, 2023), 'Mechanical Properties, and In Vitro Biocompatibility Assessment of Biomimetic Dual Layered Keratin/Hydroxyapatite Scaffolds' (Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2023), and 'Effect of Nystatin Coated Copper Oxide (CuO) Particles on Mechanical, Thermal, and Antifungal Properties of Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA)–Based Denture Materials' (Advances in Polymer Technology, 2024). She fosters collaborations with materials scientists, clinicians, and partners across Asia and the Middle East, and holds current funding for the Smart Injectable Endodontic Sealer project from the Australian Society of Endodontology. Dr. Feroz is a dedicated educator, coordinating courses such as DENT2060 and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Australia, New Zealand, and internationally.
