Assistant Chief Pilot and Instructor Commercial Aviation

As an instructor, this position teaches courses and serves as the instructor of record for multiple flight-related classes each term. While flight instruction is provided by Skyline Aviation, responsibilities include managing associated coursework for three to four flight courses per semester and tracking student flight hours.

Essential Duties

1. Deliver high-quality courses in the flight operations track within the commercial aviation program; uphold safety and professionalism across all training environments.
2. Act as instructor of record for flight classes (actual flight instruction is handled by the university’s flight school partner).
3. Create and maintain a system for accurately tracking student flight hours across all classes.
4. Assist the chief pilot with coordination and communications with the FAA for compliance, approvals, audits, and program oversight.
5. Support student recruitment and represent the Commercial Aviation programs at events and outreach activities.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
