Job Summary:
The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Mercy University seeks a candidate for a full-time Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science beginning Fall 2027. This is a non-tenure track, multi-year contract (MYC) core faculty position. At Mercy, MYC faculty receive annual contracts until their Third-Year Review, at which time they become eligible for two-, three-, or five-year contracts.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Behavioral Science and Sociology and contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum within the program. The Faculty member will participate in departmental meetings and contribute to program initiatives and activities as appropriate. Instruction will occur in person at the Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan and Bronx campuses, with some remote possibilities.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in Behavioral Science and Sociology.
- Deliver instruction in person at the Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan and Bronx campuses with possible remote components.

Specialization in one or more of the following areas:
- Public Health and/or Medical Sociology
- Research Methodologies and Data Analysis
- Community Development
- Inequality and Social Policy
- Conflict Resolution and Mediation
- Experience cultivating inclusive learning environments.
- Experience working effectively in a collaborative academic team setting
- Demonstrated record of effective undergraduate teaching.
- Experience building and modifying undergraduate curricula
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic academic environment.
- Commitment to serving the needs of diverse students.
- Strong potential for social research and scholarly activity.
- PhD in Sociology, Behavioral Science, Public Health, or a related social science discipline required at the time of hire
