POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The School of Business and Technology at Seton Hill University seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Communication position with a specialization in Organizational Communication, to begin January 1, 2027 (negotiable for an August 2027 start). We welcome applications from teacher-scholars whose work engages organizational communication, leadership, and/or communication ethics. We invite applicants from a broad range of theoretical orientations and methodological approaches, including people with expertise in qualitative, rhetorical, quantitative, and/or mixed methods.
The School seeks candidates who will work collaboratively to foster growth and innovation while remaining centered on the mission of the School of Business and Technology and the University. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, an active research agenda, and the potential to contribute to the school's mission through service and student mentorship. The successful candidate will teach a 4-4 load (24 credits annually) across both in-person and online courses in undergraduate and graduate programs, including but not limited to: Corporate Ethics & Social Responsibility, Organizational Leadership, Business Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Leading Change with Organizational Ethics, and additional courses based on candidate interest and departmental need. Supervision of internships, student organizations, and engagement in co-curricular involvement is expected.
