Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/ Professor in Mathematics

The Institute currently enrolls over 1,000 undergraduate students and will soon launch new postgraduate programmes in Statistical Data Science, Bioinformatics, and Healthcare Data Science in collaboration with the University of Birmingham. 

Research Environment 

J-BJI is establishing the Jinan University – University of Birmingham Joint Research Centre for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences, which will serve as a platform for high-level research collaboration in mathematics, statistics, artificial intelligence, and data science. 

The Centre aims to foster interdisciplinary research, attract outstanding scholars worldwide, and build an internationally visible research community supported by strong collaboration between Jinan University and the University of Birmingham. 

Position 

The Institute invites applications for a full-time Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. 

Areas of interest include:

• Pure Mathematics
• Applied and Computational Mathematics
• Probability and Mathematical Statistics
• Applied Statistics
• Operations Research
• Interdisciplinary areas related to Mathematics

Exceptional candidates in related areas are also encouraged to apply. 

Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

• Conduct high-quality research and publish in leading international journals
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in English
• Supervise students and contribute to academic development of the Institute
• Participate in research collaboration and academic service 

Qualifications 

Applicants should have:

• A PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• Evidence of strong research potential or an established research record
• Ability to teach effectively in English
