Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role
Ara is looking for an Automotive Tutor to pass on their expertise and knowledge to students. Automotive Tutors deliver the fundamental automotive trade skills to groups of learners who are wanting to start an automotive apprenticeship or career. This learning is delivered in well equipped facilities through excellent educational practices.
This role offers opportunities to work with people of all ages. At Ara Automotive, we deliver to a variety of students: school students exploring vocational opportunities, full time students committed to joining the trade, apprentices learning on the job, and qualified mechanics who are upskilling.
As an Academic Staff Member – Automotive, you’ll play a key role in developing the next generation of automotive professionals. Working within Ara’s purpose built Woolston Trades Campus, you’ll teach foundational automotive skills, mentor learners at different stages of their vocational journey, and bring your industry expertise into a practical, hands on learning environment. This role blends technical skill, people leadership, and educational impact - supporting learners to gain confidence, capability, and readiness for a successful automotive career.
Don’t have teaching experience? No worries, we offer support to gain your Level 5 teaching qualification, free of charge, while you work. Pass on your knowledge to the next generation of mechanics.
