Offer Description
The PCL – Polymer Chemistry Laboratory is opening a call for applications for the award of two research fellowships (“BI – Research Fellowship”), each for an initial period of 12 months, renewable up to a maximum of 36 months, with a monthly stipend of €1,359.64. The fellowships are intended to support R&D activities in the field of Materials Science and Engineering, under the supervision of PCL researchers, within the scope of the PCL projects – SIMOLDES INTEGRATE, reference PT2030_SIID_RCI.
The fellowships are intended for applicants enrolled in non-degree courses or PhD students in Chemical Engineering or related fields, holding a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
The objective(s) to be achieved are:
This fellowship is part of the SIMOLDES INTEGRATE project and aims to develop a new technology for the production of epoxy-based biocomposites using exclusively monomers from renewable sources, for application in the automotive industry.
The work plan involves the development of new bio-based polymers for the production of components used in the automotive sector. The work will include the synthesis, characterisation and processing of polymers.
The work will be carried out at the PCL laboratory under the scientific supervision of Full Professor Jorge Coelho.

Selection process:
The selection will be conducted by a committee appointed for this purpose and may include an interview with shortlisted candidates. The evaluation criteria are as follows:
- 70% – Candidate’s Curriculum Vitae evaluation.
- 30% – Relevant previous experience related to the proposed tasks.
