• Be a Spanish national or a national of a Member State of the European Union, or a national of those States to which, by virtue of international treaties concluded by the European Union and ratified by Spain, the free movement of workers applies.
  (Ser español o nacional de un Estado miembro de la Unión Europea o nacional de aquellos Estados a los que, en virtud de tratados internacionales celebrados por la Unión Europea y ratificados por España, sea de aplicación la libre circulación de trabajadores).
• Proof of nationality and the other requirements set out in the call for applications must be provided by means of the relevant documents, certified by the competent authorities in the applicant’s country of origin and translated into Spanish, which will be the official language in which the selection process will take place and knowledge of which will be required of all participants.
  (La acreditación de la nacionalidad y demás requisitos exigidos en la convocatoria se realizará pormedio de los documentos correspondientes, certificados por las autoridades competentes de su país de origen y traducidos al español, que será la lengua oficial en la que tendrá lugar el desarrollo del concurso y cuyo conocimiento será exigible a todos los participantes).
• Those applying for the competitions who do not have Spanish nationality must possess a knowledge of Spanish certified with an official C1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level certification or equivalent. Those whose native language is Spanish are exempt from accrediting the aforementioned C1 level.
  (Quienes se presenten a los concursos y carezcan de la nacionalidad española, deberán poseer un conocimiento del castellano acreditado con una certificación oficial de nivel C1 o equivalente. Quedarán exentas de acreditar el citado nivel C1 aquellas personas cuya lengua materna sea el castellano).
• Not to suffer from any illness or physical impairment that would prevent the performance of the duties of university professors.
  (No padecer enfermedad ni defecto físico que impida el desempeño de las funciones correspondientes a Catedráticas y Catedráticos de Universidad).
• Not to have been dismissed from the service of any public administration as a result of disciplinary proceedings, nor to be subject to absolute or special disqualification from public employment or office by court order, in order to gain entry to the civil service or a civil service grade. In the case of nationals of another State, not to be disqualified or in an equivalent situation which, in their own State, prevents access to public employment on the same terms.
  (No haber sido separado, mediante expediente disciplinario, del servicio de cualquiera de las Administraciones públicas, ni hallarse en inhabilitación absoluta o especial para empleos o cargos públicos por resolución judicial, para el acceso al cuerpo o escala de funcionario. En el caso de ser nacional de otro Estado, no hallarse inhabilitado o en situación equivalente que impida, en su Estado, en los mismo términos el acceso al empleo público).

Specific Requirements

The participation requirements of applicants must be met by the end date of the application submission period and until the moment of taking office.

• a) To be accredited for the University Teaching Staff (Full Professors), in accordance with the conditions set out in Royal Decree 678/2023 or Royal Decree 1312/2007 of 5 October, as amended by Royal Decree 415/2015 of 29 May, which establishes national accreditation for entry into university teaching bodies.
  (Hallarse acreditado para el Cuerpo Docente Universitario de Catedráticos de Universidad, conforme a los supuestos previstos en el Real Decreto 678/2023 o Real Decreto 1312/2007, de 5 de octubre modificado por el Real Decreto 415/2015 de 29 de mayo, por el que se establece la acreditación nacional para el acceso a los cuerpos docentes universitarios).
• b) Those who have a minimum of two years’ active service as career civil servants in the Corps of University Professors may take part in this competitive examination for promotion through the internal promotion system.
  (Podrán participar en este concurso de acceso por el sistema de promoción interna quienes tengan una antigüedad mínima de 2 años de Servicio Activo como funcionarios de carrera en el Cuerpo de Profesores Titulares de Universidad).
