Full time professor in Psychology (2 positions)

Offer Description

Professor position (full-time) at the Institute of Applied Psychology, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava, a leading university in Slovakia. The professor is expected to be able to teach at BA, MA and PhD level both in Slovak and English language, conduct their own research and run their own national and international research projects, and be an established member of the research community. At the same time, professor contributes to the development of study programmes and serves as a (co)-guarantor.

Education Level: PhD or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

• PhD (or equivalent) in the field of Psychology or a related field (substantial part of the candidate’s published scientific and scholarly work must be in the field of Psychology);
• At least 10 years of teaching and research experience (teaching in the field of psychology) after obtaining a PhD;
• Experience as a principal investigator or co-investigator of at least one successfully completed national research project and at least one international research project;
• Publication record in domestic and international peer-reviewed, indexed, and impact-factor journals; authorship or co-authorship of at least one textbook or teaching material with a total volume of at least 6 author’s sheets (AH), and at least 35 scientific publications, including: 2 publications in category A+, 4 publications in category A, and 6 publications in category A−, of which at least two must have been published within the past five years (or during the period in which the applicant was economically active in the field, or proportionally relative to the preceding period);
• Demonstrated ability to formulate the development strategy of the field of study and to serve as a guarantor or co-guarantor responsible for the quality and development of a study programme. The ability to submit scientific outputs for the Research Excellence Evaluation (VER) of the institution is an advantage.
• B2 level proficiency in English; ability to teach in English (confirmed by study in English language, mother tongue or language certificate)
• B2 level proficiency in Slovak language; ability to teach in Slovak (confirmed by study in Slovak language, mother tongue or language certificate)

• A completed table demonstrating fulfilment of the criteria for appointment to the position of Professor in Psychology at Comenius University in Bratislava (criteria of the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University), or the corresponding increment in these achievements for the proportional period preceding appointment to the position of Professor;
• A declaration of non-criminal record.
