Primary Purpose of the Position:
The IT Infrastructure Manager provides leadership and oversight of the University's technology infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, security, and availability of essential IT services. This position manages technical staff and coordinates daily operations, maintenance, projects, and improvements across network, server, telecommunications, and related infrastructure systems.
The Infrastructure Manager works collaboratively with university departments, technology vendors, and IT leadership to support institutional priorities, resolve technical challenges, and improve service delivery. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure and CISO and plays a key role in supporting the University's technology operations and long-term infrastructure planning.
Work Location: This is primarily an on-site position requiring a regular presence on campus during the workweek. Limited remote work flexibility may be available based on operational needs and university policy. This position is not eligible for fully remote employment.
Preferred Years Experience,Skills, Training , Education:
- Management Experience: Experience supervising IT professionals, developing staff, managing operational priorities, and supporting a collaborative, service-oriented team environment.
- Enterprise Infrastructure Experience: Experience working in complex IT environments involving enterprise networking, servers, virtualization, cloud technologies, telecommunications, or data center operations.
- Operational and Project Management: Experience with IT project management, vendor coordination, budgeting, disaster recovery, infrastructure planning, or service improvement initiatives.
- Additional Education and Professional Development: Advanced degree in a related field, relevant IT certifications, or experience supporting technology operations in higher education or similarly complex organizations.
