Job Responsibilities
- Teach and assess the following two core subjects of the Bachelor of Science programmes in Electrical Engineering:
- Electrical Engineering 1 (2nd semester, 5 CP, 2 h lecture and 2 h tutorial per week)
- Electrical Engineering 2 (3rd semester, 5 CP, 2 h lecture and 2 h tutorial per week)
- Deliver the accompanying tutorials and exercise sessions, and develop course materials, problem sets, laboratory manuals, and practical exercises for both modules.
- Design, supervise, and continuously improve the laboratory experiments in the Electrical Engineering Fundamentals laboratory, including safety instruction and assessment of laboratory work.
- Ensure a coherent learning progression from Physics and Mathematics into the subsequent modules of the programme, in particular Signals & Systems, Electrical Components, Measurement Technologies, and Control Engineering.
- Engage in applied research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with industry partners on circuit design, energy conversion, and applied electrical engineering projects.
- Supervise student projects, industrial internships, and bachelor theses involving electrical circuits, electromagnetic systems, and laboratory-based engineering tasks.
- Contribute to curriculum development, accreditation, and continuous improvement of teaching quality within the Electrical Engineering department.
Job Qualifications
- Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, Automation, or a closely related field.
- Strong background in electrical engineering fundamentals: DC and AC network analysis, complex phasor calculation, electric and magnetic fields, transient analysis, and three-phase systems.
- Demonstrated excellence or clear potential in university-level teaching, especially in large first- and second-year foundational courses.
- Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (e.g. LTspice, PSpice, MATLAB/Simulink) and with laboratory measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, and programmable power supplies.
- Experience in designing and running undergraduate teaching laboratories is highly desirable.
- Practical industry experience in electrical engineering, electronics, or energy technology is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to high-quality teaching in an international environment.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German and/or Chinese is a plus but not required.
