Overview
What you'll learn
- The Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Disease programme at the Medical University of Vienna is committed to train and prepare students for careers that combine biomedical research and clinical practice in cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine. By training students in these areas the overall goal of the program is to maintain as well as to increase the university's performance in applied research by a symbiosis of research and practice.
- A main goal of this program is the translation of basic science concepts into the clinical application. In order to achieve this goal scientists from various areas of basic and clinical research were invited to join this program. These scientists will teach students in basic science and clinical medicine.
- For example, basic laboratory techniques comprising protein biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular imaging and animal experimentation will be linked to clinical epidemiology, pathophysiology, molecular diagnostics, and medical as well as interventional and surgical therapies. In summary, the final goal of this program is to educate independent researchers in cardiovascular and pulmonary translational medicine.
- MedUni Vienna offers fully-funded doctoral studies in interdisciplinary programs, including Medical Physics, Artificial Intelligence, Immunology, Neurosciences, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Malignant Diseases, (RNA, vascular, infectious) Biology, Molecular Signalling or Mechanisms of Cell Biology, Cellular Homeostasis, Public Health and Medical Informatics.
