Job Summary:

Job Duties:

The Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University invites applicants for a Professional Track faculty position in business analytics, with qualifications to teach undergraduate business analytics courses beginning in Fall 2027. The successful candidate is expected to successfully deliver a range of courses in business analytics and/or operations management as well as having the opportunity to develop and offer new courses of interest supporting the instructional needs in our major, minor, and university-wide electives. Specific areas of need are spreadsheet modeling and analysis, machine learning, and project-based capstone courses. The initial appointment is for three years, with the possibility of reappointment in subsequent years, contingent upon satisfactory performance. The starting rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Professional Track faculty members have a teaching load of six courses per year with typical class sizes of around 25 students. Additionally, candidates will be expected to advise students and maintain faculty qualifications consistent with the AACSB accreditation standards.

Although this position will not be eligible for tenure, Bucknell values professional track colleagues as full members of the faculty and provides extensive resources to support their growth. This includes access to a robust Teaching & Learning Center and funding for professional development and scholarly engagement. Professional track faculty members are eligible to vote in University and College faculty meetings and serve on faculty committees.

Professional Track faculty members are reviewed every three years, with the initial review occurring prior to the third year of the appointment. Excellent teaching is the primary criterion for renewal and promotion. This track includes three successive ranks. Faculty members become eligible for promotion to the next rank after six years of service at their current rank. Prior equivalent service may be applied toward promotion.
