Pediatric Cardiology Advanced Imaging Physician

This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%.

This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Assistant Professor (CHS), Visiting Professor, or Visiting Associate Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (applicable to Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track)). An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

• Provide interpretation of all modalities of echocardiograms and performance and oversight of 3D, transesophageal and fetal echocardiograms, outpatient ambulatory cardiology clinic, and inpatient service attending.

• Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.

Important contributors to divisional activities include physicians (pediatric specialists in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, critical care medicine, anesthesiology and perfusion, and maternal fetal medicine), nurse practitioners, registered nurses, echocardiography technicians, exercise physiologists, and our patients, their families, and their referring physicians. Madison is the second largest city in the state, with a city population of approximately 280,000 and a regional population of over 1 million. The city is within easy driving distance of Chicago and Milwaukee. Required Qualifications:

• Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology through the American Board of Pediatrics is required by appointment start date.
  
  
• Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Cardiology is required by the appointment start date.
  
  
• Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required by the start date of the position.
  
  
• WI Medical license by start date of position.
  
  
• Board-certified in Pediatrics by start date of position.
  
  
• Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by the start date of the position.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• A 4th year of fellowship training in advanced cardiology imaging, including transthoracic, transesophageal, 3D, and fetal echocardiography, is highly preferred.
  
  
• For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.
