Offer Description
Through bioinformatics analysis of C. elegans scRNAseq datasets we have recently discovered that cellular identities are characterized by genes with extremely high gene expression levels ( https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.64898/[contact details available in the full listing]v1.full ) The goal of this PhD project will be to explore the function and regulation of such flared genes during the embryonic development of C. elegans. The doctoral candidate will use genetics methods such as genome editing, RNAi to characterize the…
expression of these genes using fluorescent reporters. The objective will then be to identify the regulatory pathways that allows for rapid transition from one gene expression pattern to another in the course of terminal cell identity acquisition.
