Our recruitments are based on expertise and carried out in accordance with the University's aim to increase diversity and to be free from discrimination.

Konstfack is Sweden's largest university for arts, crafts and design. Since 1844, we have educated a diverse range of professionals within these fields as well as art and sloyd teachers. We conduct both artistic and scientific education/research and currently have approximately 900 students and 200 employees. Please read more at www.konstfack.se

The position is based in the Design specialisation at the Department of Design, Interior Architecture and Visual Communication (DIV), where both education and research are conducted in these fields. The department offers education at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. At the department, artistic practice is integrated with critical and societally oriented knowledge development. DIV's research environment is under development, and as a professor you are expected to share responsibility for leading its development within the Design specialisation.

The two programmes offered within the Design specialisation follows a progressive educational structure with a strong foundation in sustainability. On the Bachelor's programme in Industrial Design (180 credits), students gain a broad foundation in industrial design through artistic creation, form-giving and design methodology, whilst exploring materials, techniques and digital media in relation to users. The students develop physical and digital skills, and gain understanding of the profession, through collaboration with industry and society. The Master's Programme Design Ecologies (120 credits) builds on this foundation, expanding theoretical and methodological knowledge, maintaining a strong grounding in material and spatial practice, while acknowledging humans' interdependency with other species. This prepares students for both professional and research-oriented careers.
