Expression of interest for a position of Research Assistant

The Iscte Knowledge and Innovation Association – Centre for the Valorisation of Transfer and Technologies, through its Research Unit, Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), informs that an expression of interest is open with a view to the recruitment of a Research Assistant, to perform functions within the scope of the acquisition of services for the "Evaluation of European Funds: Qualifications and Performance of Companies", funded by the Agency for Development and Cohesion I.P.

1. Tasks to be performed

The Research Assistant will work in a team to carry out the research tasks included in the approved work plan. The duties to be performed are described in more detail in the Annex to this Expression of Interest.

2. Mandatory requirements

2.1. Holding a master's degree in areas of social and political sciences considered appropriate by the Selection Committee according to the object of the project.

3. Preferential requirements

3.1. Have relevant research experience for the development of the project, namely in quantitative and qualitative methods applied to public policies, in qualifications and work.

4. Conditions offered

4.1. Type of contract: individual employment contract with an uncertain term, related to the duration of the project, and may not exceed the applicable legal maximum limit.

4.2. Remuneration: Monthly remuneration to be awarded according to the Statute of the Scientific Research Career, Law no. 55/2025, of 28 April, with the remuneration index corresponding to the 1st position of index 100, on a part-time basis, in the gross amount of €945.76, plus food allowance, holiday and Christmas allowances, as well as occupational accident insurance, under the terms of the applicable legislation.

4.3. Workplace: The project is based at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), of the Iscte Knowledge and Innovation Association – Centre for the Valorization of Transfer and Technologies, headquartered at Avenida das Forças Armadas, 1649-026 Lisbon, Portugal, and the respective activities are carried out in that place and, whenever necessary, in other places that are essential for the execution of the work plan.

5. Formalization of the application

Expressions of interest must be submitted, with the following documents, on the https://recrutamento.conhecimentoinovacao.iscte-iul.pt platform by November 11, 2026.

5.1. Document proving the possession of the master's degree. In the case of holders of a master's degree obtained abroad, a document proving its recognition or equivalence by a Portuguese institution must be presented, under the terms of current legislation.

5.2. Detailed curriculum vitae.

5.3. Other documents that the candidate considers relevant for the assessment of individual merit.

6. Selection methods

6.1. The selection will be made based on the curricular evaluation.

6.2. The curricular evaluation is carried out, on the entire scale from 0 to 100 points, according to the criteria:

• a) Academic background – Final grade of the master's degree (20%);
• b) Research experience in social sciences – Participation in funded research projects in the areas of research methodologies, public policies, qualifications and work (50%).
• c) Experience in collecting, processing and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data (30%) – Advanced training and experience in the use of online questionnaire software, data analysis and content analysis (e.g. SPSS, Qualtrics, Maxdqa).

6.3. Candidates who obtain a classification of less than 50 points are excluded from the procedure.

8. Final provisions

The Iscte Knowledge and Innovation Association - Center for the Valorization of Transfer and Technologies reserves the right not to proceed with the contracting if the necessary conditions are not met.
