On the basis of Article 40 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (NN 119/22, NN 110/26) and the Program Agreement establishing the multi-year financing of the basic, development and implementation budget components of the Croatian Institute of History (CLASS: 402-08/23-40/01; NUMBER: 533-24-13) from 28 th December 2023 and in accordance with the Decision of the Director of the Croatian Institute of History (CLASS: 119-01/26-01/18; NUMBER: 251-849-02-01-26-1) from 14 th October 2026, the CROATIAN INSTITUTE OF HISTORY, Department for the History of Slavonia, Srijem and Baranja, Ante Starčevića 8, 35 000 Slavonski Brod, is issuing the folowing job advertisement.

J O B A D V E R T I S E M E N T

for the selection of an scientific position – Research Associate, on a permanent, a fixed full-time basis (40 hours per week) to work in the Department for the History of Slavonia, Srijem and Baranja in Slavonski Brod - 1 executor.

In addition to the general requirements for employment and the conditions stipulated by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, applicants must also meet the relevant supplementary criteria established by the Decision on General Supplementary Criteria for Selection to Research Positions at the Croatian Institute of History, which is available on the Institute’s website (http://www.isp.hr/wp-content/uploads/dodatni-uvjeti-ZV.pdf).

Preference for this scientific position will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:

1. works from the history of Slavonia during the period between World War I and World War II
2. experience in the publication of historical sources
3. experience in editorial work.

The application must include: CV (general information, details regarding education and previous employment and a brief summary of scientific and professional work); copies of the certificates confirming the appropriate professional qualification or academic degrees - a doctorate in the field of humanities, field of history; a copy of the decision confirming appointment to a scientific title (if applicable); list of scientific and professional publications; evidence of fulfillment the National criteria for appointment to the scientific position of research associate, as well as evidence of fulfillment the relevant additional requirements.

Applicants who achieve the right of priority according to a special law, are obliged to refer to that right in their application for the competition, to attach appropriate evidence and to achieve priority over other candidates only under equal conditions.

Applicants who achieve the right of priority in accordance with the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (NN 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23), as well as applicants who achieve the right of priority in accordance with the Law on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (NN 84/21), in addition to proof of fulfillment of the conditions, they are required to submit all the necessary proof published on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans:

Persons of both sexes can apply for the competition in accordance with the Law on Gender Equality (NN 82/08, 69/17).

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 days from the date of publication of the competition in the "Narodne novine", on the Croatian Institute of History - Department for the History of Slavonia, Srijem and Baranja website in Croatian.

Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered.
