Offer Description
We are hiring a research technician for the project "Caracterización y Remediación de la Contaminación de Suelos y Aguas Subterráneas en la era de la Transición Ecológica y Digital - CARESOIL" funded by Comunidad de Madrid (Ref: TEC-2024/ECO-69). The candidate must hold a MSc title on agricultural or environmental science and must demonstrate previous experience related to soil science, agriculture, and climate change.
The candidate will help with field sampling of agricultural plots located in the urban and peri-urban area of Madrid, perform sample treatment and analysis including wet lab techniques focused on soil biology, soil chemistry and soil physics. The candidate will support the research team "Sustainable Agriculture and Biogeochemistry" of the Institute of Agricultural Science, one of the institutes of the Spanish National Research Council (ICA-CSIC).

The temporary contract will have a duration of 24-30 months, approximate gross wage for a MSc worker is 32500 eur/year (social security percentage being paid by CSIC).

Requirements
Research Field: Agricultural sciences » Soil science
Education Level: Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications: The candidate must hold a MSc title on agricultural or environmental science and must demonstrate previous experience related to soil science, agriculture, and climate change.
Specific Requirements:
- Soil sampling (core sampling, GPS location, soil sieving and milling)
- Crops sampling (Aboveground and belowground Biomass measurements)
- Wet lab (Good laboratory practices, preparation and application of protocol for soils and plants analyses)
- Soil physics (Soil moisture content, aggregate stability, bulk density)
- Soil biology (enzymatic activities, soil respiration, soil microbiology)
- Soil Chemistry (pH, electrical conductivity, soil organic matter fractionation, quantification of soil carbon and nitrogen contents)
Languages: Spanish — Mother Tongue; English — Good
Years of Research Experience: 1 - 4
