The lab of Dr. Tommaso Cupido at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is looking for motivated, biology-inclined synthetic chemists to push the frontier of RNA proximity-induced pharmacology.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical biology, or related fields, familiarity with multistep organic synthesis, and at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication (accepted or close to be).
The focus is the discovery, design and development of small-molecule modulators using novel screening and compound optimization platforms, with emphasis on yet-to-be-drugged pathways and biological mechanisms that regulate RNA biology and gene expression in cancer.
The project will be conducted in the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and builds on strong investments into a world-class infrastructure in high-throughput chemical discovery and synthesis.
We offer:
- State-of-the-art, fully staffed facilities for chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, structural biology, mass spectrometry, genomics, cell microscopy and data-driven discoveries at St Jude.
- A highly collaborative and supportive research environment with premier experts in cancer biology.
- Opportunities to develop expertise across chemical biology, structural, cellular and molecular biology, proteomics, and drug discovery.
- Strong opportunities for scientific growth, publication, grant writing, collaboration, and career development.
Please direct queries and application packets including a cover letter, current CV, in a single PDF, to Dr. Tommaso Cupido ([contact details available in the full listing]). Applicants should be ready to send three letters of reference directly to this email address upon request.
