🎓 What is an Exam Supervisor?

An Exam Supervisor, often called an invigilator or proctor, plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of examinations in higher education. The meaning of Exam Supervisor refers to a professional who oversees the entire exam process, from setup to completion, ensuring rules are followed and a fair environment for all students. In Volgograd Oblastn universities, this position is vital during intensive exam periods, such as the winter and summer sessions mandated by the Federal State Educational Standards.

Historically, exam supervision evolved from traditional oral defenses in 19th-century Volgograd Oblastn academies to structured written exams post-1917 Soviet reforms, emphasizing standardized testing. Today, Exam Supervisors prevent disruptions and uphold academic honesty amid large cohorts in institutions like Moscow State University.
