🎓 What is a Post Doc Research Fellow?

A Post Doc Research Fellow, often abbreviated as postdoctoral research fellow or simply postdoc, refers to a transitional academic position designed for individuals who have recently earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. This role allows early-career researchers to deepen their expertise, build an independent research profile, and prepare for permanent academic or industry positions. Unlike permanent faculty roles, postdocs are temporary, typically lasting one to three years, and emphasize hands-on research over teaching.
