About Daniel
Daniel Lin is a Professorial Lecturer in the Department of Economics at American University, located in the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in Economics from George Mason University and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. As part of the Economics faculty, Lin engages in teaching and research that align with the department's focus on economic principles and analysis.
Daniel Lin's research areas are industrial organization, the theory of the firm, and the economics of political behavior. His specific focus is the organizational evolution of the entertainment industries in the postwar era. He teaches undergraduate courses including ECON-200 Microeconomics, macroeconomics, environmental economics, and political economy. Currently, for Fall 2025, Lin is scheduled to teach two sections of ECON-200 Microeconomics and ECON-397 Internship in Teaching. His Spring 2026 schedule mirrors this, with two sections of ECON-200 Microeconomics and ECON-397 Internship in Teaching. Lin's contributions support student learning in core economic topics and practical applications through internships.
