Libow's first monograph, Vigorous Reforms: Women Writers and the Politics of Health in the Nineteenth-Century United States, is forthcoming from the University of North Carolina Press in 2025. Her peer-reviewed scholarship includes the prize-winning essay “A Face of Anguish: Pain and Portraiture in the Civil War Hospital,” published in American Literature 96.2 (2024) and awarded the Norman Foerster Prize for the best essay published annually in the journal.
