Rate My Professor Kathleen Mahon

Mahon's research interests center on higher education pedagogy, professional learning of university teachers and leaders, conditions shaping educational practice, educational praxis, and practice theory, particularly the theory of practice architectures. Key publications include co-editing Living Well in a World Worth Living in for All: Volume 1: Current Practices of Social Justice, Sustainability and Wellbeing (Springer, 2023) and Volume 2: Enacting Praxis for a Just and Sustainable Future (Springer, 2024); "Bridging theory and practice: introducing a theoretically informed pedagogical tool for empowering educational leaders in navigating practice architectures" (Professional Development in Education, 2025); "A pedagogical evaluation of an institution's digital assessment platform (DAP): integrating pedagogical, technical and contextual factors" (Australasian Journal of Educational Technology, 2024); and "Beyond an anthropocentric view of praxis: towards education for planetary well-being" (Environmental Education Research, 2024). She is co-founding Senior Editor of the Journal of Praxis in Higher Education, serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal for Experiential Education, and is a member of the international Pedagogy, Education and Praxis research network comprising scholars from Australia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, Colombia, and New Zealand.
