Rate My Professor Kristy Cardellio

Cardellio's teaching portfolio at Eckerd includes introductory Italian courses such as IT 101, advanced Italian classes requiring prerequisites, and Winter Term courses like FD 182 Arts and Crafts for Planet and WTI 1G-002 Morocco. She leads language immersion and study abroad programs, notably accompanying Eckerd College's volleyball team, coaches, and students on a 10-day Spring-into-Summer course to Rome and Florence, Italy, in 2025, following classroom preparation. Additional immersions include trips to Italian language schools like Parola in 2019 and January language courses. As Program Manager of Global Education, she supports study abroad initiatives, international student recruitment—where numbers have remained under 100 since fall 2018—and events like CPS sessions on selecting Winter Term travel courses. Cardellio advises the Italian Club, participates in campus activities such as shoreline cleanups, and has presented research at the American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL) conference in 2016 and the Third International Conference on the Development of Innovative Language Teaching and Learning Methodologies. She has also provided linguistic assistance, including Italian translations, for scholarly publications such as Michael Flaherty's work on the textures of time.
