Rate My Professor Mohsen Talei

Talei's research focuses on combustion, acoustics, direct numerical simulation, and large eddy simulation. His work explores combustion-generated sound, hydrogen combustion dynamics in gas turbines, premixed hydrogen influences at elevated pressures, and the development of clean transport fuels from waste. He has led significant projects, including high-fidelity simulations of turbulent premixed flames and hydrogen auto-ignition in confined domains. Talei received the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) in 2018 to develop predictive tools for combustion noise in low-emission gas turbine combustors. He has since obtained further ARC Discovery Project funding, such as DP240100450 for modeling premixed hydrogen at engine pressures and initiatives towards highly-efficient hydrogen gas turbines. Talei also held a visiting fellowship at the Center for Turbulence Research, Stanford University, and contributes to the ARC Centre of Excellence for Renewable Fuels.
