Voola's scholarship centers on marketing's role in advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including poverty alleviation, zero hunger, social inclusion of migrant workers, and reducing inequality through business strategies. His research also covers customer engagement behaviours in social media, value creation in brand communities, proactive and responsive market orientations, and resource-based views in competitive strategies.
