Rate My Professor René Gislum

Gislum's research centers on crop phenotyping, nitrogen status determination in perennial ryegrass and other grasses for seed production, seed quality assessment using multispectral imaging and single-seed NIR spectroscopy, and sustainable fertilization strategies. Notable publications include 'Designing and Testing a UAV Mapping System for Agricultural Field Surveying' (2017), 'Quantification of fructan concentration in grasses using NIR spectroscopy and PLSR' (2011), 'Classification of different tomato seed cultivars by multispectral visible-near infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics' (2016), 'The Use of Multispectral Imaging and Single Seed and Bulk Near-Infrared Spectroscopy to Characterize Seed Covering Structures' (2021), and 'Review of Crop Phenotyping in Field Plot Experiments Using UAV-Mounted Sensors and Algorithms' (2024). He participates in projects such as AGRIVOLT for agrivoltaics, SmarterFarmer, and field phenotyping of grasses. In 2019, he was appointed President of the International Herbage Seed Group. With over 2,200 citations across 91 publications, his work influences digital agriculture and crop health management. Gislum contributes as a committee member for Pajbjergfonden and reviewer for journals including Remote Sensing and Ecological Informatics.
