Rate My Professor Robert Robbins

Robbins made notable contributions to curriculum development and instruction. In 2007, during deliberations by the Utah State Board of Regents, he was identified as a key full-time tenured faculty member prepared to teach core courses in the proposed Bachelor of Science Degree in Biotechnology program, fostering partnerships with Salt Lake Community College. He taught courses including Plant Biology (BOT 3340) and co-authored the Bio1625 College Biology II Laboratory Manual, revised in 2017 with Dr. Larry Gray, which supported laboratory education in college biology. Beyond teaching, Robbins engaged in faculty governance through participation in senate meetings and publicly commented on campus issues, such as opposing concealed carry in 2013 as a professor of biology and botany. He also endorsed scientific advocacy efforts, signing the 2011 Experts' Letter defending the Endangered Species Act and later World Scientists' Warnings to Humanity. In 2020, he served as a lecturer at UVU, reflecting his enduring commitment to the institution and the field of biology.
