Rate My Professor T Sivakumar

Dr. T. Sivakumar is a Professor in the Department of Applied Science and Technology at Anna University, Chennai, where he has built a distinguished academic career spanning over three decades. He earned his B.Sc. in 1985 and M.Sc. in 1987 from the University of Madras, followed by a Ph.D. from Anna University in 1996. He conducted post-doctoral research at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2001. His professional journey at Anna University began as a Lecturer from 1989 to 2006, progressed to Assistant Professor from 2006 to 2012, Associate Professor from 2012 to 2015, and Professor since 2015. Notably, he served as Director of the Centre for Sponsored Research and Consultancy (CSRC) from June 2023 to May 2025. Dr. Sivakumar's research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, biofuels, visible light driven catalysts, and photocatalysts for detoxification processes. He has authored over 85 journal articles and 4 conference proceedings, achieving an h-index of 30 with more than 2,645 citations on Google Scholar and 2,486 on Scopus. His work has been recognized internationally through prestigious awards, including the UNESCO Award in 2002 for advanced research at Tokyo Institute of Technology, the Brainpool Fellowship from the South Korean Government in 2010 at the Korean Research Institute of Technology, the Active Researcher Award in 2012 from the Centre for Technology Development and Transfer at Anna University, the Young Scientist Award in 1998 from the Indian Council of Chemists, and the Dupont Award in 1995 from the Indian Thermal Analytical Society.
