Rate My Professor Vincent Gomes

Gomes conducts research in nanotechnology, bioengineering, chemical and materials engineering, with current projects centered on biomedical engineering and nanomaterials. His expertise spans catalyst development, adsorption, polymer synthesis, nanomaterials, materials engineering, polymeric biomaterials, biomaterials, nanocomposites, material characterization, and nanoparticle synthesis. He has produced a substantial body of work, including key publications such as "Rapid Additive Manufacturing of All-Carbon, All-dielectric Metastructures" (2024), "Oxygen releasing patches based on carbohydrate polymer and protein hydrogels for diabetic wound healing: A review" (2023), "Superhydrophilic 3D-printed scaffolds using conjugated bioresorbable nanocomposites for enhanced bone regeneration" (2022), "Photoluminescence properties of silk–carbon quantum dots composites" (2022), "3D‐printed polymer nanocomposites with carbon quantum dots for enhanced properties and in situ monitoring of cardiovascular stents" (2021), "Aerogel from fruit biowaste produces ultracapacitors with high energy density and stability" (2019), and "Conjugated carbon quantum dots: Potent nano-antibiotic for intracellular pathogens" (2019). These contributions advance 3D printing of functional microstructures, sustainable energy storage from biowaste like durian and jackfruit, nano-antibiotics, biosensors, electrocatalysts, and tissue engineering scaffolds. Affiliated with the Sydney Nano Institute, Gomes has received ARC funding for projects including non-invasive tissue monitoring. He is listed among globally elite researchers.
