Yang-Gang Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Southern University of Science and Technology. He received his B.S. from Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2008 and his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Jun Li. Following his doctorate, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory from 2014 to 2016 and as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the Fritz Haber Institute from 2016 to 2018. He joined Southern University of Science and Technology in 2018, where he established his independent research group.
His research focuses on the fundamental understanding of catalysis through first-principles theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations. He has authored more than 40 research articles in catalysis, including seven in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, two in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, two in Nature Communications, and four in ACS Catalysis.
