RECTOR OF THE SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY announces the competition for the position of assistant (F / M) in a group of research and teaching employees in the Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, 2A Akademicka St.

Job description:

1. the competition for the position of assistant professor is open to persons who meet the requirements specified in the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and the Statute of the Silesian University of Technology of 3 June, 2019 (Legal Monitor of SUT of 2020, item 339 as amended), for the position of research and teaching assistant;
2. estimated work commencement date: 01.03.2027,
3. workplace and type of contract: Department of Telecommunications and Teleinformatics at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science, full-time employment contract,
4. anticipatedperiod of employment: from 01.03.2027 to 28.02.2029 (with the possibility of extension).

Requirements:

1. possession of a master’s degree in technical sciences in the area of training: technical computer science, teleinformatics or telecommunications,
2. participation in thematic conferences or symposia;
3. proficiency in Polish sufficient to conduct teaching activities in this language;
4. proficiency in English sufficient to conduct teaching activities in this language

Additional requirements:

1. research experience documented by publications indexed in the Scopus database,
2. at least one publication according to the list of journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education,
3. participation in international conferences,
4. documented teaching experience in Polish and/or English,
5. familiarity with numerical environments and programming skills in Matlab, Python, C++,
6. theoretical and practical knowledge of issues related to telecommunication systems, computer networks, 4G/5G mobile networks, and cybersecurity
7. research experience and a publication record in topics related to telecommunications,
8. willingness to conduct teaching activities in topics related to teleinformatics,
9. willingness to submit a declaration to conduct scientific research in the discipline of Technical Computer Science and Telecommunications.

2. scan of the diploma confirming the award of a master’s degree (in the case of a foreign diploma: confirmation of recognition of the diploma as equivalent in accordance with Article 327 of the Law on Higher Education and Science);
3. CV;
4. information on scientific and teaching achievements,
5. confirmation of participation in thematic conferences and symposia,
6. a description of planned scientific development, including proposed research activities,
7. an opinion of active academic teacher with the academic degree of habilated doctor or equivalent on the candidate’s predispositon to work as a research and teaching employee.
8. a declaration of proficiency in English,
9. statement on proficiency in Polish (only for candidates for which Polish is not a native language).

A person chosen through a competition for employment will be required to submit a certificate of no criminal record from the National Criminal Register (KRK).
