Assistant Professor (¾ time)

Offer Description

RECTOR of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice announces an open competition for the position of assistant professor (¾ time) in the Department of Composition and Music Theory in the field of music theory.

The competition is open to individuals who:

• meet the requirements set forth in Article 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, on Higher Education and Science,
• hold at least a doctoral degree,
• demonstrate achievements in artistic and teaching activities.

Applicants must submit the following documents to the Human Resources Department:

• an application for admission to the competition containing the following clause: “I consent to the processing of my personal data contained in my job application for the purposes necessary to conduct the recruitment process” (in accordance with the Act of May 10, 2018, on the Protection of Personal Data, consolidated text: Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1000), confirmed by a handwritten signature
• a resume confirmed by a handwritten signature,
• a personal questionnaire,
• copies of diplomas and other documents confirming qualifications,
• a statement of no criminal record,
• a concise description of artistic achievements for the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026, confirmed by a handwritten signature,
• a brief description of teaching achievements for the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2026, confirmed by a handwritten signature,
• for candidates employed at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice—a description of organizational achievements for the period from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2026, confirmed by the candidate’s handwritten signature,
• a personal statement outlining the candidate’s plans regarding artistic, research, teaching, and organizational activities for the benefit of the Academy, confirmed by the candidate’s handwritten signature.

Participants in the competition are required, within the deadline set by the Competition Committee, to:

• to conduct a 20-minute demonstration lesson with a group of students during their class on a date specified by the Competition Committee, subject to the Competition Committee’s right to shorten the duration of the demonstration lesson.

The selection committee has the right to conduct interviews with the applicants.
