Offer Description

Assistant professor position (full-time) at the Institute of Applied Psychology, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava, a leading university in Slovakia. The assistant professor is expected to be able to teach at BA and MA level both in Slovak and English language, conduct their own research as a team member of national and international research projects, and be an established member of the research community.

Requirements

• Research Field: Psychological sciences » Psychology
• Education Level: PhD or equivalent
• Skills/Qualifications:
  • PhD or equivalent in Psychology or a related field (substantial part of the applicant’s published scientific and scholarly work must be in the field of Psychology);
  • Teaching experience in Psychology. This criterion does not apply to applicants who have not previously worked in an academic educational environment or to recent graduates;
  • An appropriate increase in publication activity in the relevant categories during the assessed period in which the applicant was professionally active in the field, or proportionally compared with the previous assessed period, demonstrated by:
    • authorship or co-authorship of one monograph or one chapter in a monograph; or
    • authorship or co-authorship of one scientific paper published in a journal or publication/edited volume indexed in registered databases; or
    • authorship or co-authorship of two scientific papers published in international or domestic peer-reviewed scientific edited volumes or monographs;
  • Participation in at least one domestic or international research project as a member of the research team;
  • Active presentations at least two international scientific conferences or creative symposia, including at least one held abroad;
  • Slovak language proficiency at B2 level, with the ability to teach in Slovak (confirmed by study in Slovak language, mother tongue or language certificate);
  • English language proficiency at B2 level, with the ability to teach in English;
  • Specialization in any of the following areas is an advantage: clinical psychology, counselling psychology, occupational psychology, cognitive psychology, qualitative or quantitative research methodology.
