Offer Description
We are looking for Experienced Researchers to perform research within the Research Department of “CoE MARBLE – Centre of Excellence in Maritime Robotics and Technologies for Sustainable Blue Economy” (https://www.marble.eu/). The Experienced Researchers are expected to be high-level research performs and be able to contribute to the main research areas of CoE MARBLE as well as propose and lead new proposals and projects in related areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing/leading research projects and teams, publishing in high-quality journals and mentoring young researchers. In addition, the preferred candidate will have multi-partner environment experience and possess excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
About us:
CoE MARBLE – Centre of Excellence for Maritime Robotics and Technologies for a Sustainable Blue Economy - is a non-profit research organization, financed by the European Commission under the prestigious Horizon Europe Teaming programme, founded by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing.
The main goal of CoE MARBLE is toengage Croatia in a path of sustainable innovative growth in blue economy in strategic partnership with Norwegian University of Science and Technology and National Research Council (Italy). The strategic vision of CoE MARBLE is to put Croatia on the map of R&I excellence by becoming a European lighthouse and a role model in the field of maritime robotics and technologies, focusing on key research areas identified as essential enablers with the highest impact on the blue economy sectors aligned with the Smart Specialization Strategy of Croatia.

Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the existing Research Department staff in research projects and proposals
- Lead new research proposals and new research avenues/topics
- Attract and participate in collaborations with industry to ensure sustainability of CoE MARBLE
- Publish high-quality research in high-quality (Q1) journals
- Mentor and coach young researchers to foster professional growth and leadership skills
- Build and lead high-performing research teams by attracting top talents
- Transfer knowledge of state of the art, industry trends, and best practices to drive excellent research and innovation and maintain a competitive edge
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and scientific excellence within the Department
- Participate at meetings, and other relevant events
- Other tasks as defined by Associate Director for Research and the Director

Requirements
- Research Field: Engineering
- Education Level: PhD or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
Candidates’ profile:
- Minimum of a PhD in a relevant field related to the research domains of CoE MARBLE
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in tasks related to the key responsibilities
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience in field trials
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mind
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of English language
Specific Requirements
Preferred qualifications:
- Driver’s licence: B category
- Postdoc experience or professorship
- Experience in trials at sea
- Knowledge and technical understanding of maritime technologies
Languages: ENGLISH
Level: Excellent
