Project duration: 24 months fixed term
The position is for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher focused on the design, synthesis, and optimization of lanthanide-doped metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for photocatalytic hydrogen generation from water.
The successful candidate will work within an international collaborative environment and closely interact with a high-throughput automated laboratory at the University of Zurich, to accelerate the development of targeted photocatalysts.
Daily tasks:
- Support laboratory and equipment maintenance.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare scientific reports and project deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with research partners to achieve project goal within the timeframe.
- Participation in international collaboration and results dissemination in national/international conferences.
- Publishing research results in high quality scientific journals.

Skills/Qualifications
Requirements:
- a highly skilled researcher with internationally recognized PhD degree in Chemistry, material science or equivalent area;
- demonstrated expertise in the design, synthesis, and characterization of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs);
- proven hands-on experience in heterogeneous catalysis and/or photocatalysis;
- 2 years of experience in the research and development (R&D) sector or equivalent;
- good command of English, at least at the B2 or equivalent;
- ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an international research environment.
Nice to have:
- Good knowledge in lanthanide-based material;
- Have hand-on skills in organic linker design and synthesis.
Specific Requirements
A person may be employed in a postdoctoral (post-doc) position if they obtained their doctoral degree no more than 12 years before the year of employment in the project (this period may be extended in certain cases) and meets the formal requirements of the National Science Centre (NCN) set out in the Regulations on the Award of Funding for Research Tasks Financed by the National Science Centre under the research project call.
