Offer Description
Termez State University invites applications from qualified international academics for teaching and research positions in French Language, Linguistics, and Language Teaching.
The University is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the following areas:
- French Language
- French Linguistics
- French Language Teaching Methodology
- Applied Linguistics
- French Grammar and Phonetics
- French Lexicology and Stylistics
- Intercultural Communication
- Translation Studies related to French
- French for Academic and Professional Purposes
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, student supervision, and international academic cooperation.
Main responsibilities include:
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in French and/or English;
- Delivering theoretical and practical courses in French language, linguistics, and language teaching methodology;
- Supervising undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral research projects;
- Conducting and publishing high-quality research in peer-reviewed international journals;
- Contributing to curriculum development and modernization;
- Developing innovative approaches to French language teaching;
- Participating in international research, mobility, and academic cooperation projects;
- Supporting the development of international partnerships with French-speaking universities and institutions.
Candidates should hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in French Language, French Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, Translation Studies, Philology, or a closely related field.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong teaching experience, international academic experience, a solid research publication record, and experience in French-medium or multilingual higher education.

Skills/Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in French Language, French Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, Translation Studies, Philology, or a closely related field.
- Strong academic and research background in French language, linguistics, and/or language teaching methodology.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: French Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, French Language Teaching, Translation Studies, Intercultural Communication, or French for Academic and Professional Purposes.
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in French and/or English.
- Experience in conducting and publishing research in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Ability to supervise undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral research projects.
- Experience in curriculum development, innovative language teaching, academic mobility, and international research cooperation will be considered an advantage.
- Experience working in French-medium or multilingual higher education environments will be considered an advantage.
Specific Requirements
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree relevant to the advertised position.
- Candidates should demonstrate expertise in French Language, French Linguistics, or French Language Teaching Methodology.
- Experience in Applied Linguistics, French Grammar and Phonetics, Lexicology and Stylistics, Translation Studies, or Intercultural Communication is highly desirable.
- Candidates should be able to deliver theoretical and practical courses in French; the ability to teach in English will be considered an additional advantage.
- Preference will be given to candidates with publications indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science.
- Experience in supervising graduate students and participating in international academic, research, or mobility projects is desirable.
- The selected candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum development, international academic cooperation, student supervision, and the development of French language education at Termez State University.

Benefits
- The annual salary will range from USD 20,000 to USD 30,000, depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, academic experience, teaching record, and expertise. The salary will be paid in monthly installments throughout the year.

Eligibility criteria
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in French Language, French Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Language Education, Translation Studies, Philology, or a closely related field.
- Relevant teaching and/or research experience in higher education.
- Demonstrated expertise in French Language, French Linguistics, French Language Teaching Methodology, Applied Linguistics, Translation Studies, or related fields.
- Excellent command of French and the ability to teach university-level courses in French.
- Ability to communicate and, where required, teach in English will be considered an advantage.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or international conference proceedings.
- Preference will be given to candidates with publications indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science.
- Experience in supervising graduate students, curriculum development, academic mobility, or international research projects will be considered an advantage.
Selection process
Applications will be reviewed by the relevant academic and administrative representatives of Termez State University.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview. During the interview, candidates may be asked to discuss their teaching experience, research profile, approaches to French language teaching, curriculum development experience, and potential contribution to Termez State University.
Candidates may also be asked to demonstrate their ability to teach or communicate professionally in French.
The final decision will be based on academic qualifications, research achievements, teaching competence, language proficiency, international experience, and the candidate’s potential contribution to the University’s academic and international development.
