Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek invites applications for a Senior Teaching Assistant in Humanities, Philology on a temporary, full-time basis to work on the scientific project "Rano usvajanje i razumijevanje polisemnih riječi" (project ID: UIP-2025-02-5422) funded by the Croatian Science Foundation.

Specific Requirements

All applicants must meet the general requirements prescribed by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, 46/23, and 64/23). Applicants are required to meet the general conditions set in Article 39, Section 6 and 7, Article 40 and Article 44 of the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act (Official Gazette 119/2022), as well as Article 123, Section 4 and 5, Article 124 and Article 130 of the Statute of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Article 47, Section 2 and 3, Article 48 and Article 54 of the Statute of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the conditions prescribed by Article 26 of the Regulations on the Procedure for the Selection/Reappointment to Scientific-Teaching, Artistic-Teaching, Teaching, Associate and Professional Positions at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek (consolidated text).

Eligibility criteria

The Call is open under equal terms to person of all genders. Late or incomplete applications shall not be considered.

Eligible candidates are ones who submit a timely, full and complete application to the Call and meet the formal requirements of the Call.

The application is considered complete if it contains all the required data and appendixes as outlined in the Call, and is personally signed by the applicant.

Selection process

Applicants meeting the general requirements, who have submitted an application to the Call together with the mandatory documentation required for the Level I. of the candidate selection procedure, are required to attend testing/ an interview before a Committee, i.e. Level II of the process, and will be notified of the venue and time of the testing/ interview via the Faculty webpage (www.ffos.unios.hr) and via e-mail. Applicants who fail to attend the testing (interview) will be considered to have withdrawn their application and will not be considered eligible candidates.

Additional criteria for candidates, which must be fulfilled and shall be taken into consideration in the evaluation process, are as follows:

1. Participation in scientific research published papers, and presentations at international scientific conferences.
2. Excellent command of the English language
3. Additional comments

By submitting an application to the Call for Applications, the candidate granting permission to have all their personal data in the submitted documents collected and processes in accordance with the regulations governing personal data protection, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).

The Call is open 30 days from the date of publication.

Applicants will be notified of the results within fifteen (15) days following the termination date. The Faculty reserves the right to also notify the applicants via email.
