Machining Center. As a student-focused institution with a strong hands-on curriculum, we emphasize undergraduate and graduate education that provides technical excellence with a significant emphasis on real world applications. Our undergraduate curriculum includes minors in Aerospace Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, providing students with opportunities to explore these applications. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses and to establish and maintain an active research program. Candidates should be highly qualified to teach undergraduate dynamics, including topics in particle and rigid-body kinematics and kinetics. We welcome applicants from a broad range of areas that build upon or complement this foundation, including, but not limited to, multibody and three-dimensional rigid-body dynamics, robotics and robotic mechanisms, flight dynamics, aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering and other areas relevant to mechanical engineering.

Salary range for this position is $77,500 - $116,000

The University of St. Thomas has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

QUALIFICATIONS

A PhD (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline is required, as well as a clearly articulated vision for advancing a research program. For candidates who are nearing the completion of their PhD, a timeline for Ph.D. completion will be discussed during the interview process and agreed upon prior to extension of an offer.  All applicants must have demonstrable skills necessary for excellence in teaching.  For candidates whose primary experience is in the engineering industry (outside of academia), skill in teaching may be demonstrated based on other professional experiences which require leadership, mentorship and presentation skills.
