Job Summary
Utility and Energy Services at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Utility Plant Electrician! The primary focus is the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment, controls, metering, and related systems. Work is performed with a strong emphasis on safety, code compliance, and minimizing downtime. The position also supports the campus wide utility metering system, I&C, and Medium Voltage tasks.
Candidates should have general knowledge of power distribution equipment, motors, Variable Speed/Frequency Drives (VSD, VFD), electrical metering, totalizers, and pneumatic devices, and a working knowledge of electrical diagrams and circuits, and familiarity with NEC.

Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment and devices within district energy plants. This includes VFD’s, Motor starters, UPS systems, Electrical distribution systems and a variety of industrial control and metering devices.
