A University on the Move. An Opportunity to Help Shape Its Future.
Texas A&M University-Victoria is entering one of the most consequential periods in its history, and the University is seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking leader to serve as its next Vice President for Student Affairs.
With its recent transition into The Texas A&M University System, the arrival of a new president, significant new state investment, and plans to expand academic offerings in aviation, agribusiness, and engineering, A&M-Victoria is building momentum that creates exceptional opportunities for institutional growth and student success.
For the right leader, this is an opportunity to do more than oversee a Student Affairs division. It is an opportunity to help shape the direction of a university, strengthen its connection to the students and communities it serves, and make a lasting difference in the educational and professional futures of those students.
The University and the Opportunity
Located in the Coastal Bend region of Texas, just 30 miles from the Gulf Coast, A&M-Victoria occupies a distinctive place in the state's higher education landscape. As the only four-year university within a 100-mile radius, it plays a vital role in expanding educational opportunity, developing talent, and supporting the economic vitality of the region.
A Hispanic-Serving Institution offering more than 50 academic programs, A&M-Victoria combines the personal engagement of a regional university with the expanding opportunities and resources of one of the nation's largest public university systems.
The University's new president, Christian Hardigree, brings a record of enrollment growth, partnership development, and institutional advancement. Together with the University's recent transition into the Texas A&M System, her arrival signals an exciting new chapter for A&M-Victoria.
Reporting directly to the President and serving on her Cabinet, the Vice President for Student Affairs will be a central partner in that next chapter.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to strengthen campus life, elevate student engagement, improve retention and degree completion, and build a Student Affairs organization that is closely connected to the University's academic mission and enrollment ambitions.
This role calls for an executive who understands that a thriving university is built not only in its classrooms, but also through the relationships, experiences, support systems, and sense of belonging that shape a student's journey from enrollment to graduation.
A&M-Victoria seeks a leader who can bring people together, develop talented teams, build productive relationships across institutional boundaries, and translate ambitious goals into measurable results. Equally important will be the ability to connect authentically with students, understand the challenges they face, and help create an environment where they can succeed.
Why Consider A&M-Victoria?
