Amherst PhD Program

PhD Opportunities at Amherst

Amherst College does not offer PhD programs directly. However, students interested in pursuing doctoral studies can benefit from:

• Research Opportunities - Amherst provides extensive undergraduate research opportunities that can prepare students for PhD programs elsewhere.
• Collaborations - The college has partnerships with other institutions like the Five College Consortium, which includes PhD-granting universities.
• Funding and Scholarships - While Amherst does not fund PhDs, it supports students in applying for external scholarships and fellowships for graduate studies.
