AC SAT Scores

SAT Score Ranges for Admitted Students:

• Score Range: 1120–1340 (based on recent admissions data for the middle 50% of admitted students)
• Average Score: Approximately 1230, reflecting the typical performance of successful applicants to Austin College (AC)
• Percentile: Scoring at or above the 75th percentile (around 1340) can significantly strengthen an application

Key Points:

• SAT or ACT scores are not strictly required; Austin College (AC) has adopted a test-optional policy for admissions
• When submitted, SAT scores are evaluated as part of a holistic review process, with no strict minimum threshold
• Austin College does practice superscoring, combining the highest section scores from multiple SAT test dates to create the best possible composite score
• Alternatives such as strong AP or IB test results can bolster an application, especially for test-optional applicants
• For competitive admission to AC, applicants are encouraged to aim for an SAT score of 1230 or higher to align with the average of admitted students
