ESU SAT Scores

SAT Score Ranges for Admitted Students:

• Score Range: 950–1160 (combined Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math)
• Average Score: Approximately 1050
• 75th Percentile: Around 1160, meaning 25% of admitted students score above this mark

Key Points:

• SAT or ACT scores are required for most freshman applicants to Emporia State University (ESU), though exceptions may apply for certain programs or circumstances.
• ESU evaluates scores as part of a holistic review process, considering them alongside academic records and personal achievements rather than as a strict cutoff.
• Emporia State University does practice superscoring for SAT scores, taking the highest section scores across multiple test dates to form a composite score.
• Alternatives such as AP or IB test scores may be considered for placement or credit but are not typically substitutes for SAT/ACT requirements in admissions.
• Prospective students are encouraged to aim for an SAT score of at least 1050–1160 to be competitive, aligning with the average and upper percentile of admitted students at ESU.
