JSU SAT Scores

SAT Score Ranges for Admitted Students:

• Score Range: 940–1130 (combined Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and Math)
• Average Score: Approximately 1030
• 75th Percentile: Around 1130, meaning top admitted students score at or above this level

Key Points:

• SAT or ACT scores are required for most freshman applicants to Jackson State University (JSU), though policies may vary due to temporary test-optional provisions.
• Scores are evaluated as part of a holistic review, alongside GPA, extracurriculars, and other achievements, rather than strict cutoffs.
• JSU does not officially publish a superscoring policy, so applicants should aim for strong individual test sittings.
• Alternatives such as AP or IB test scores may be considered for placement or credit but are not substitutes for SAT/ACT in admissions.
• Prospective students should target an SAT score of at least 1030–1130 to be competitive for admission to Jackson State University.
